Thinking about optics, I started experimenting with the pinhole element, itself—a small disc made of metal with a hole in the center. I’m working in collaboration with natural light and the pinhole element to create faux landscape/moonscape images and videos by obscuring my iPhone lens. The backdrop is the white ground of my ceiling. The sensor renders soft hues of gray, pink, blue, black, and white…and colors in between, yielding an other-worldly experience. Through these pinhole meditations, light becomes both material and subject. (2026—ongoing)
